We just wanted somewhere to write things down. Phone, Mac, Windows - didn't matter. Just somewhere that synced without uploading our stuff to someone else's server.

Tools exist that get close. We tried them. But they always came with a learning curve, a setup process, a config file, a "just read the docs" moment. Getting it working for ourselves was one thing. Getting someone else set up? Forget it.

We didn't want a powerful tool we had to learn. We wanted something quick and right-there. Something that doesn't get in your way - just catches whatever you need, whether it's for later or for right now. A place to format a proper doc or just jot a thought and find it again. One place, not a disjointed story scattered across platforms.

So we built Dispatch. Plain files, on your devices, synced directly between them. Right-click a note, pick which device, done. Nothing to configure, nothing to learn, nothing to worry about.
